No way to use the battery in the traditional sense as i have no engine/alternator in the car and also i have no battery cables even in the car anymore. I need to remove the window, and I could just unbolt the motor and regulator from the door and drop it down.. but there has to be a better way. There's no simple way is there?
I was thinking of jumping the motor with a battery and some wires.. Does anyone happen to know which prongs on the motor to go to ground and which to power to get it to go down? I can try to figure out the wiring diagrams in the shop manuals... but maybe someone's done it before..

Funny question. Which post depends on the direction you want to make the window go. Up or down. Just use a couple pieces of wire one to the battery and ground the other one. Touch those prongs and your motor will spin. If it is going the wrong direction then reverse how you are doing things.

Ok thanks, that's kind of what i was wondering. Just one prong to ground and the other to power, and the other direction is just flipping the power and ground? Shouldn't be hard to figure out which.

You should be able to jump power in at the switch connector. If you pull the switch out of the door, use connectors 1 and 2 (A and B on early cars) on the socket to apply 12 volts. These go directly to the motor.
The motor itself is not grounded to the chassis at all, so it can reverse direction to close the window.
Put the + on one and - on the other, and if it runs the wrong way, just swap them.

Err before you start, crimp the terminals on the wires and put them on the motor and do the jumping from the battery terminals, if the window arm comes down and squashes any part pf your hand, how do you intend to swap over the terminals.
