I purchased a 88 944S from a salvage yard in Lousiville, Ky March of last year. It had been stolen, and the front end was wrecked and the panel below the tail lights. Guess what Carfax said...... it was accident free, and even quailfied for a buy back guarantee!!!!! In other words, it is only on carfax if it was reported by the insuracne co. In other words, you can wreck the he.. out of your car, pay to get if fixed yourself, and it will still have a clean carfax. Cars this old, the carfax is not that accurate.

I know of multiple cars with salvage titles purchased out of state, once titled in Wisconsin the "salvage" did not carry over. Carfax is clear on every single one, its a joke.

Hey guys the more i think about it the more im wondering about my buddys 85 (not 85.5) with ~50k he wants 5k but i bet i can get him to 4, its stock, its brown metallic (anyone know the color or have a pic) with brown leather interior, few small rock chips, little seat wear, brand new tires, and i know the car pretty well, ohh and the hatch needs a little persuasion to release but it has no accidents that i know of.
So who wants to give me the rundown of the changes from 85 to 85.5?
Also how bad is it if these cars have been using regular gas?
Thanks again folks

same car or not?
Are you sure all those photos are taken of the same car? The reason I ask is because in the engine shots there are definitely red pin stripes on the fenders of the car in that photo. There are no pin stripes on any of the other shots of the car.
