Default 935/RUF type mirrors on a 944

So, I picked up a set of 935-style (and used on the RUF YellowBird) mirrors designed to fit a 944. They look like this:

Here is what the type of mirrors look like on a 935/911 type vehicle:

Here is sort of the same look on a 944:

So, I'm leaning hard toward installing them, which will entail welding up the holes in the doors from the old mirrors (so this won't happen until the car gets a total repaint soon).

What do you think? Should I paint them the same color as the body, or go black?

Overall opinions?

(other than my car is a bastard-child, I already know that )

Very cool Tifo, I saw those recently on a local DP935 here in Vancouver...they look really cool. Where did you find them if you don't mind my asking?

Personally I think you should go body colour. The 951 Cup mirrors look good in black, but these seem to flow better if they are the body colour.

It would have been cheaper to just buy a 944 Turbo.

I vote for black too. Can I call dibs on your 968 mirrors?

Black would go more with the original vein....but who are you to follow that template? Red would flow..or whatever color your body ends up.

I don't know, these mirrors were an impulse buy. If I decide to go thru with installing them after I mock things up, you get first dibs . If I decide not to do it, I'll keep the 968 mirrors and sell the 935 units.........I'll tinker on this in the garage in the next couple of weeks.

I'm leaning toward black myself like you and others have stated. Although if I do that, then the car will be screaming for a black Lemans-style wing.

Then I guess I'll have to call dibs on the 968 bridge too. Your killing me here! Your car is dead sexy. Who are you having do the paint job?

I bought them second-hand. Sorry, I don't know of any company that is currently making them for our cars.

LOL Kevin, sorry to be killing you so bad! Let's hope for you and your wife's sake I don't like them once I mock them up and have to keep that stuff!

Wade, you may have an idea there.

I hear ya on the wife thing. I'm sure what ever you decide to do, it will look right and serve a purpose.

Did I tell you that AIR is still making those front air scoops? I think that will be my next project.
