I recently had a problem with my turnsignals intermittently working...Id start the car up and be driving for a bit, and then the turnsignals would stop blinking and just stay on.

I replaced the relay and solved my problems.

If the light doesn't even come on, I would say check the wiring to that light.

Grounds, my dear friend. Clean the grounds in the headlight buckets as a start/ ALSO- make sure ALL the left side bulbs are good. (side markers, rear lights etc)

Just a thought: I once replaced the turn signal with the wrong bulb (used 1156 bulb instead of 1157) which resulted in non-blink. IIRC, 1156 has the two nodes directly opposite of each other, but the 1157 has the two nodes set slightly offset -- but otherwise, the two are of identical size.

I think Friendan has it right. Sounds like the typical symptoms of the flasher relay going bad.

You can get a $25 generic VW-type flasher relay from an import auto parts store. Should be an easy fix.
