Hey guys, just bought a clutch for my 944 finally...got this one off of ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...BSAA%3AUS%3A31
It says it includes :
SACHS OEM Pressure Plate (Made in Germany)
SACHS OEM Clutch Disc (Made in Germany)
SACHS OEM Release Bearing (Made in Germany)
SACHS OEM Release Bearing Kit (Made in Germany)
SACHS OEM grease pack (Made in Germany)
Genuine SACHS Clutch Kit Part #: KF298-02-19
Now, do I need to replace the pilot bearing? I dont see that in the list and I dont know if they go by other names...Anything else? I'm thinking of picking up the kit at lindsay racing (http://www.lindseyracing.com/Merchan...ode=CLUTCHSACH) would that be it? I'd like to not spend the money if possible..but if its needed Ill get it.
Anyone know?
thanks
Mike

I'm pretty sure you will need to change out the pilot bearing, but it MAY be in the last item there listed as the clutch kit. I would wait until the kit comes in and see if it's included. If it's not you can order one from any of the online parts shops or even a dealer (approx $4-7). In the meantime review the procedures and any associated tips to make sure you're ready for the job. It took me a couple of weeks of after work nights in my garage to get the job done on my own (first time too). Clark's Garage has a good guide (http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/clutch-01.htm). Good Luck!

Actually I'm buying the kit. Might as well have everything I need...but while I have a recent thread..does anyone know the average cost of lightening a factory 944 flywheel? I searched Rennlist and Pelican but mostly found info about the Findaza flyhweel....Anyone have any useful info on it?

You need new fasteners and pilot berring The t/o berr sleeve, rear main seal, in the Lindsey kit you might need. The aligning tool is nice to have.
I'm sure you could save a few $$ by doing the leg work for the smaller pieces.
