Rev limiter to stop unauthorised abuse??

If you cannot trust your mechanic with your car on a test drive, time to find a new mechanic. I ask my mechanic to run my cars up to at least highway speeds and WOT a few times to make sure whatever work was performed is all worked out before I pick it up.

I worry more about my transmission than them beating on my engine. I outright tell them to go ahead and wind it up, just make sure the engine is fully up to temp, and the oil pressure at idle has fallen to ~ 2 bar before they push it hard. That said, I do worry a lot more about them grinding gears, and otherwise beating on the transmission when doing so. The motor I know will take it. The transmission I am not certain.
