85.5 parts car for sale
Anyone interested in an '85.5 as a parts car?
I was rear-ended in mid-October, and spent weeks trying to get the insurer for crazy girl who hit me to cover the damage. My insurer finally agreed to cover me under Uninsured Motorist coverage, but they have given me an estimate that I don't believe will cover the repair. I could have them start and get more from them during the process, but I don't have the energy for this anymore. I'm leaning toward just taking what they are initially giving me, and selling the car as is.
I was asking $2,500 before the accident.
Now, I'm looking for a reasonable offer (i.e. LESS than $2,500 ) to take this ride off my hands.
The suspension is practically brand new (about 2K on the Koni Sport Yellows, new tie rods).
The brakes are also new (around 1K on the new rotors and pads).
The seats (brown leather) are in very good shape for 20 years.
Plus, I'm sure people would be able to find plenty of other usable parts on it (except the a/c compressor - it is broken).
Heck, you might even want to fix it up and race it or drive it on the street. I don't know, but I do need to let this saga come to an end.

I hate to tell you this, but....just buy new or used rear bumper shocks(2) and aside from the little bumper piece(cheap used) and the little ding below the lights..you are fine....In fact looking at your top picts, you have already fixed it or that ding below the lights was already there?

It runs fine. It has been maintained very well during its entire ownership. I'm the third owner (the first two were my friend and his mother before that).
I'm not saying I'm going to part it out. I don't have a garage to do that here in the city.
I'm saying someone could buy it for me for a low enough price that they might want to part it out for a profit.
I have no preference.
I just have to sell.
