Default Anyone have a late n/a DME?

Hey Guys,
Well after lots of testing, replacing parts, and this , I think I finally figured out that it was my DME that was causing my problems all along. So far I've been able to rule out the DME Relay, Ignition Coil, Sensors, Ignition Switch, and grounds as what is causing my car to just turn off.

Here is the link to the problems I have been having: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/233580-replaced-the-dme-relay-but-still-the-same-problem-help.html

So the only thing left is the DME right? So I pulled it out to inspect it for bad solders, and the actual green part of the circuit board is basically flaking off. It appears that it may have somehow had water on it sometime in the past, and now I just think it is on its way out.

So I was wondering if anyone in the Ohio area might have a late n/a DME (I have an '87) that I could borrow to make sure that it is what is causing my problems. All my 944 friends here in Columbus own Turbos, and I went to some local Porsche shops to see if someone would let me borrow a DME, but they didn't like that idea.

If no one has a DME that I could borrow, does anyone have a used one that I could buy for a decent price? Thanks a lot for the help guys, and I hope this will solve all of my problems. (Or at least until something else decides to break )

Hi Gabe,

Julian (aka "Rock" here on the forums) is selling a 1986 DME. He is in the Cincinnati area. You might want to send him a PM.

Good luck.

Take your DME and plug it into someone else car to test it. Safer that way. IF something in the car might have caused it to go bad, besides going for a swim, you won't blow someone else dme up.

Thanks for the help, I sent a PM to "Rock". I would try my DME in someone else's car but I don't know anyone with a late n/a in Columbus. If anyone else has heard of a DME for sale, please let me know. Thanks.

Rock's got only 2 bids on it on ebay now, up to a whopping $11.50:

This one seems like the only other "correct" one:

Thanks for the heads up on the ebay ones Kevin. I'll keep an eye on those as the bidding comes to an end. 35thSLP, I responded to your PM, some pics of the ones you have would be great. Thanks again guys.
