Default LOOK!!!!! EARLY CARS

so the air channels welded into the front of the car inder the header panel are not important correct? since im already workign on my car, i want to grind them out today in the cold, so theyll be ready for if/when i put in the 924 vents. or vented panel. they only seem to be spot welded to one plane, and not ata a bottom and back, meaning no support(to me). also, when i ground them off of my replacement nose, i noticed they do not touch the header panel at the back.....also meaning to me, that they arent necessary for support. prove me wrong, so i dont grind them out....ill check back after i work on my car a little.

I had to Sawzall part of them to fit a late, screw-type panel in. Hasn't made a difference for me.

Everything about installing a vented header panel onto an early car is a horrific pain in the ***. Trust me on this.

Depending on where you want the airflow to go, the directing vanes may or may not be important to you.

on a stock car, when function do they really serve? the "air travel" path would go over by the distributor cap in theory. im just trying to plan for the future, i already had to grind a header panel off of an early front end and make it bolt on to my early car that had to have a panel ground off. i know the scoops do not serve as function, but airbags dont get used everyday either.

While the early guys are looking, and you're done, may I hijack your thread? =)

Anyone with a 930 S steering wheel on an early 944? Pics?

porcho heat, you should post this as a topic. otherwise, i'll see if i can scrounge up a pic from my old '84.
