manual steering?

have a complete 80 924 turbo. will the steering rack, fit and what will it take to put in a 944S?how much hp increase, is it enough to justify swap?

Keep in mind that your car is a late-offset car, so that even if you get the early 924 rack to fit, or purchase a 944 rack, you will need the special ($$$) late-offset tie rods.
There is no "increase" in HP with this mod, most people do it for better road feel/response, and to eliminate a leaky PS system. The elimination of the PS pulley will probably reduce some parasitic drag on the motor, and the lighter weight manual set-up will be less weight to haul around. But don't do it if getting more HP is your main concern.

Yeah, good point. If I had the need I would try it just to see. I'm kind of funny like that. I love trying out ideas and devices, even if I have no need for them, just to see how they work. I need a gig as a product reviewer for a magazine.
