Depends on what you can get a core head for. If you can get it relatively cheap then replace it, otherwise repair it.

Corrosion of our aluminum heads is pretty common. It is the result of not using the proper aluminum-compatible antifreeze. Since that pitting is near the water jacket holes, I think that is your cause. I am not a machinist, but I understand that the solution is to weld in new metal to build up the area, then machine the head flat. Not a big deal if your head is going in for machining anyway.

That looks like a casting flaw.
If the head gasket didn't fail in that spot before, I wouldn't be at all worried about it.
It is pretty far from the combustion chamber too.

As for the ceramic liners, the one in the first picture looks cracked, around the valve stem. BUt it's not that bad. Honestly, I would clean it up, have new seals and guides put in, and re-install.

PM sent. It's corrosion, not a casting flaw.

WOW... that's a bad one!

Yep, Corrosion. Not from improper coolant, but from old CRAPPY coolant. I suppose the fancy coolant doesn't hurt, but I've never bought into that, and have no head problems on my or my customer's cars. The head can be welded and resurfaced. Not a big deal for a machine shop. If you can't find a donor head cheap, have that one redone. It should not be that big a deal.
