Looks awesome damian. I'll bet you didn't get the venerable rear view mirror paint chip option like i have on my red one! That is cool that it came with all the safety equipment too. Although I would check over THAT stuff very very carefully, which I am sure you will do. Poorly installed aftermarket safety equipment is dangerous. Have fun!

I like it. I don't see a big drawback to the early offset hubs, or even the heavy C2 replica wheels on a track car. Once it is up and moving, there will be no slow corners where the heavier weight will hurt you, if anything that would be more than offset by the increased grip from the wider wheels. Now for autox, you would be at a bit of a disadvantage with the heavy replicas, but you would already be suffering with a 951 there anyway. If that is a concern, consider getting a set of cheaper 951 early phonedials and run those at the autox.

Z, one front control arm is brand new. The lack of ABS, no airbag, does help in keeping the weight down, and the 86's are lighter anyway. We want to get out and drive and see how we do before we start adding/deleting things. Thanks gator/tifo for the suggestions too.

That's a lot of stickers...how many horsepower do they add?

Great job, guys, the car looks awesome. Can't wait to see it in person.

So, you and Raj are "partners" now (not that there's anything wrong with that)?

Who gets to keep the car? Nice looking ride! Good luck with it!

It'll be track only, not registered, and it'll be near me, except when Raj is wrenching it.

So you'll need a trailer to and from the events? Serious $$ outflow, I'm guessing!

I totally agree. I actually AutoX my daily, but the wife does not even want to ride anywhere in it (harsh ride and badly in need of a paint job). I know a local driver who had a 924S strictly for AutoX, in fact he won his class at the PCA parade, then sold it to two guys who were going to do the same. My early '85 944 cost $2300 a few years back in Cali, and after a couple grand in parts and work, I beat this beauty around the cones......

Loose the wheels and the spacers and get the correct wheels with the car, for that matter if you haven't picked up the car from the dealer talk them into putting the right wheels on the car. Give me a call tomarrow.

I just saw this on the PAR website yesterday and was going to point you guys to it. Looks like you're way ahead of me. Nice price for a nice looking car that's already set up. That's the way to do it!

It will take about 5 minutes to sell those wheels here on rennlist. Pick up 8 early offset phone dials, have them powdercoated white, and you're off.

This was a PAR car? I thought they were...umm..."overpriced" to say the least? Glad you guys got a good deal.

How's it going Neal?

I've found PAR pricing to be hit or miss. Because all of the cars there are on consignment, it depends a lot on the owner's desire to get rid of the car. Some of the cars on Paul's site are "appointment only" cars that have been there for years -- I assume this means that the owner still uses the car and is just waiting for the day that somebody actually wants to pay an arm and a leg. Others that are "in stock" are a drain on the owner's balance sheet and taking up space at PAR. They might start high, but as time passes, I would imagine that both parties (PAR and the owner) get anxious to see them go. Some are just cheap from the outset because the owner wants it gone.

Andy -- Quite well, my friend! How are you? How's your front end noise?

The only car I saw at PAR was a "very clean" 944s that looked like hell, and needed shocks, a clutch, and a bunch of other stuff. $9,500 (this was 3 years back)!

Neal - Front end noise creaking more in the cold. Gotta be the sway bar bushings! Now it will be a winter project!
