Exclamation Help in Seattle!!!

So I am visiting Seattle for the holiday's and I have an emergency, I hope someone can help me.

I lost the crank bolt on the front of my engine! I was lucky and didn't lose oil pressure and I didn't even lose the power steering pulley. But if someone in the Bothell area has a crank bolt they can bring me, I will compensate them. I know I can try Porsche on friday, but I don't want to chance them not having the bolt and washer.

I have a place to do the work, and tools, but I don't have the parts. If anyone has the bolt, washer and, just in case, the power steering pulley that they will let go of for a decent price, or I can ship you the parts off my spare engine at home, please pm me.. I did check the part numbers, and it is the same part from 86 on.

Thanks,

Tom

Hmm, my sig hasn't been working, but this is a 89 S2. A 89 Blue S2, to be exact...

Thanks again!

You can remove your pwr. steering pulley alright, but you do have to remove the large crankbolt/washer in order to do it. You should have the washer that has the step in it, so all ya gotta do is put it back on, and torque it back to 155lbs, and your good to go. You will need to remove the starter, and attach the flywheel lock, in order to remove and properly torque that bolt however.

(By the way Tom I do have the torque wrench and flywheel lock, if needed)

The smaller, 6mm bolts are holding the 6 ribbed ac/alt. belt pulley to the balance shaft drive gear behind the pwr. steering pully. You won't have to remove those, but do check that they are intact and torqued when your there.

Nut? what nut are you referring to?.........ME?

Granite Falls is not that far from Bothell. Kinda out in the country (yeah, like that really exists out here any more ) ya know.

By the way, I'm headed up there today to see the parents. I can pick up the bolt if you'd like and do a hand off. Giver a call over there if you get this message before 5pm-ish. Phone # in PM
