Default Calling ROchester, NY members...

Anybody wanna meet up for a few drinks and dinner sometime, swap stories, look ahead to DE's and such for next year?

The Local PCA guys get together the first Wednesday of every month at Tully's in Henrietta @ 7pm. Kind of a fun gathering to go over what's new and what will be coming up. Come on out so we can all meet each other and say hello.

The December meeting we are trying to get a few small gifts together for Toys for Tots also. So if you come out bring a small gift if you think of it. No they won't need greasable sway bar links.

Let me know if you are coming....

So how many here are from Rochester anyway?

Hey Curt...wassup!
I usually work evenings, and already have a job scheduled that first Wed. of Dec. or I would be there. Gotta make the $$$ for all the upgrades this winter.
Take care!

I'm a native, but that doesn't count anymore. I've been in Houston 10 years as of the day after Christmas.

I get to Rochester from time to time, but haven't been in almost 3 years. I may make it in February and my plan is to be there in September to run the marathon (it was on my event calandar for this year but an injury prevented it).

Next time I'm in town I'll start a thread and perhaps we can knock back a few and tell some lies. Is McGregor's still in business?

"Is McGregor's still in business?"
YES! More than one now - they're as far south as Canandaigua Lake, and in at least two parts of "Ra-Cha-Cha".
I'm not from Rochester, nor do I live there now, but I grew up about an hour south and now live about 1.5 hours away... if any of that counts in your tally.

OK, major thread hi-jack in progress....

There were a few when I left and last time I was there one moved and one closed. I loved the original and the one in Henrietta and the one in Perinton. Hell, I loved them all.

Hmmm.... Grew up an hour south, eh? Where abouts? My dad grew up about an hour south (Groveland).

OMG, how can you get arrested in Groveland? The place is what, about a city block long?

My grandmother lived across from the firehouse there. Had my grandfather's barbershop out front. For a long time there was an old YMCA next door.

This will come as a shock, but I never went there until AFTER I moved away. No lie.

I miss McGregors and Abbots the most. I also miss Zweigle's hots. Yum yum.

OH, and it's not food, but THE single biggest thing I miss about Rochester is WJZR. OMG, no other radio station I've ever listened to comes close. The FIRST thing I do when I rent a car in Rochester is tune the radio to WJZR. Oh how I wish they had a web-cast.

Now this is best reason so far for taking the fast boat across. I guess I'll have to take a raincheck till next spring but it sounds like fun.
