Default Headlight motor - bonehead award

Was checking the hoses, belt tension, etc. this weekend which required the removal of the front air box to body bracket. The hood release cable runs near this bracket. When putting things back together I somehow mis-routed the hood release cable. When I put on my headlights this morning, they only popped up about half way and the hood latch released. What the F....

The headlight motor crank arm had snagged on the hood release cable.

Don't do this because you will strip the nylon (micarda?) worm gear. I doubt those are available separately. Luckily I had a spare motor assembly.

I remember when I replaced the upper radiator house, i guess i put the hose clamp on the "wrong" way and the headlight was binding up on it. That had me stumped for quite a while!

been there.. done that... got the damaged hood cable to prove it!

Solution? must upgrade to latch-on type fibreglass hood and ditch that cable mechanism!

Anything that's broke or don't work, goes in the garbage! At this rate, my 951 is going to turn into a Lotus...
