It's not terribly crucial to keep them in their correct bores.
Keep in mind that during normal operation, they rotate anyways, so any wear patterns on them are non-existant. Besides, all of them should wear exactly the same anyways.
I have done a couple motors keeping them in their respective bores, and a couple times I've mixed them up. Never had a problem either way.
