my engine is making a clicking sound. i think its coming from the camshaft housing. could it be the valves?
i read it could also be the exhaust header gaskets?
any experience with this clicking sound out there?

Probably the lifters are dirty... I think this is a common occurance. You probably need to run an oiler cleaner through there.
Method that worked for me about 5 years ago:
Dump about a 1/5th of a bottle of ATF dextron III in your engine. Drive it for about 15 mins. Change the oil. Drive it for about an hour. Change the oil. Enjoy life.
You should probably confirm it is the lifters before you do the above though. Others may agree or disagree with this method -- just stating what was suggested to me about 5 years ago on my 924S and what worked.

I can't say much about it, but I had a similar sound coming from the engine of my Intrepid-ES-car-for-when-944-is-in-the-shop. Funny how a car basically brand new acts up more than my porsche. Timing chain slapping inside front end? Check for leaks in the exhaust manifold, downpipe, etc near the engine compartment. A leak will make any valve tap 10x louder. ONE other thing it can be... possibly a rod bearing issue. Drop the oil pan and check. See if there are metal particles in the oil. I know it might seem like nothing, but I developed serious issues in a car with ticking like that, even though it ran perfectly up until oil pressure dropped.

You can get those all reworked/remanufactured for well under $100.
Actually, just found this a second after posting: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/239005-witchhunter-performance-injectors-before-and-after.html

Injectors clicking doesn't mean they need to be repaired...they are supposed to make that sound. I have brand new balanced ones and they click quite audibly.
If it sounds like a "sewing machine," my money is on the injectors. Nothing to worry about. Lifters will make more of a "clacking" sound.
Get a stethoscope (or you can use a broomstick, screwdriver, etc) and listen through the valve cover. Then put it on an injector and listen. That will tell you where it's coming from.
