Default re-torque cylinder head?

hi guys,
my brother in laws 83/na is in need of a new head gasket, question is....do 944 engines require the head to be re-torqued after an initial run-in period of replacing the head gasket??
thanks in advance for any info offered..

thanks for that info st, seems my brother in law is being fed all sorts of BS by his mechanic. The car was mine originally and I sold it to him last year after I bought the turbo, the thing is....I had the head gasket replaced about 3 or so years back on that car (approx 50k ago) anyway, the mechanic said the reason it failed was because it should have been re-torqued at the time?

The long and short of it is that I hope its done right this time and he gets more than 50k out of it
