I have managed to lift the carpet up enough to remove the sound-proffing mat from underneath. It was waterlogged. When it was out it revealed a hole underneath, that goes down to what seems like a box section under the floor and then down to ground. It looks like there was probably a plug (grommet) there once. I'm not sure if that could be my leak, or if its an attempt to drain things.

Still need to get the carpet up over the gas pedal though.

Mine I looked all over to find it and it was where the PO put the alarm wires throught a hole he drilled in the area right next to the fusebox. The silicone he used to seal the hole had popped out and some new silicone fixed it right up.

Now, if anybody could tell me how to disconnect the gas pedal from the linkage rod, so that I can get the carpet out. I can feel theres a clip on the pin, but cant see it. How do I get the clip off?
It's a little spring loaded C-clip. Use needle nose pliers to carefully, so you don't bend it, pry it off. There should be a white plastic washer between it and the pedal arm as well. Getting it off was easy, I'm still trying to figure out how to get it back on, there's no way to get leverage back there. Being a contortionist (sp?) would help. If I were ten inches tall, some of these repairs would be so much easier!!!
