Default My Winter Projects on Hold! Who else has them?

There are times when I just don't understand why I can't get ahead.

Last weekend was the NoVa GTG and I couldn't take the 87 944 because of a fuel leak. While the leak continued to get worse before I could diagnose it wifey tried to back it out of the garage and broke off the passenger side flag, THEN continued to back up causing additional damage to the front fender.

So now my list is as follows.
- Address fuel leak. (its hose from tank to pump) Called local Porsche and they don't call back.
- Fix/replace mirror. Is it possible to just replace the base?
- Finish stereo install. Need factory DIN blank or a cubby.
- Remove and replace headlamps - Thad, money is on it's way in next day or so.
- Purchase rear valance to be painted with other body work
- Purchase 951 rockers. The little black thingies that run from front well to rear well.
- Purchase used fender liners, mine are broken and front valance is floppy.
- Remove cracked stone guards (front pair are done WOOHOO!!!)

Now for the normal maint things.
- Front seals
-WP/TB/BB
- New wires.
- Flush rad coolant
- Change oil

Other things I would like to do:
- Upgrade front and rear sways.
- Find factory 16x7 and 16x8 PD's

I guess that I am just frusterated that it seams like 1 step forward and 2 steps back ALL THE TIME! My car isn't even driven. IT JUST SITS IN THE GARAGE!

OK. Ranting is over for now.

That sucks.

If you want, one of these days I can head over and we can drink beer while looking at the car again. I'm sure that'll help!

Oh, forgot to mention that I just checked out GAD's website. It's sad when they have better running and looking cars than I do that they are parting. Found a green flag off an '83 911 at least too bad the '83 stuff and the 87 stuff are different.

Projects......no! Not me. Ahem!...

With all the cars I have, I'll NEVER run outta projects! But...thats my fun and relaxing hobby.....I think.

Sorry to hear about your car getting the treatment. Things happen, ya know. At least, it is all repairable. Think of all that "experience" and fun your gonna get!

Ken, you have heard my frustration! At least you have some local parts. Thanks for an ear on more than several occaisions.

Brian, how about weekend of Nov 19th and 20th. If I can get parts together you are more than welcome to come and hang. I am not sure what will get accomplished other than socializing

As long as nothing is broken in the garage I am OK.

Hey, I never said anything about "fixing" things... I'm just talking about staring at the car while drinking beer!

Thad, you have $.

Today I:
- Ordered the fuel line and new clamps.
- Ordered new belts.
- Have several sources looking for mirror, fenders and other parts.
- Ordered lamp assemblies and hardware.

I am going to try to get the parts in the right color if I can. I know fat chance but worth a try. Otherwise Brian it looks like painting could be on the agenda. Will have to wait till next mo. to order WP and front seals. Wanna get in there only once and do seals, wp and belts.

Right now my winter project is to find my self a 951 rear valance then paint it and install it on my '88 N/A.

I also am always dreaming about supercharging her but tha cost alot of money and i cannot live withould my good old A/C. Once there is a kit out there which allows me to keep my A/C i will be serious about SCing my car.

Winter? What's that? It's 85 degrees outside.

My laundry list of things to do is getting larger by the week...

For you, it's the "non-hurricane season".
