Title sums it up.

Mine was missing so I bought a replacement. It is plastic. Looks plastic. I had a crazy idea that they were metal?

Any one have any ideas?

they are plastic, both the original i scraped off when i painted, and the new one in the mail

Curious, did you get a silver one(goes good w/ Nile green I imagine,) or the black one?

I bought the silver one but IMO it looks a bit odd. I guess that I had something along the lines of brushed steel or chrome but to be honest I have never really paid attention to badges on other cars.

The old one I pulled off my car before the repaint was plastic, as was the one I replaced it with. As for why you thought they were not plastic, well... too much beer?

Tired and sober so that isn't an issue at the moment. Beer drinking and wrenching go hand in hand though. I have actually been offered parts for beverages!! WOW! Me likey!

Sorry for the dust and water spots. Have I mentioned that I will not buy another dark colored car?

You know, let it sit for about 19 more years, then was your car for the black grime around the edge of the numbers to form. Look normal then I suppose. I do see your point. Very odd looking right now.

I guess that if I wax the car AGAIN and get a little build-up working it might look a bit better. Just thought it was a bit odd.

I was thinking that it would look more like these. Anyone have pictures of their emblems as a cross ref?
