well maybe its the region I live in or something but I know of a 92 968 coupe with 48,000 that went for 18,500. And its actually really hard to find a low milage 968 in this area for under 15-17K but anyways haven drive all three cars and currently own a S2 I would say go for the 968 as a daily driver. For teh above reasons.

well i'm going to go for the 968, i love the way it looks. It's just finding one for a good price with decent mileage. I'm hoping for a guards red or midnight blue with a tan interiour. If anybody spots one, anywhere, please let me know. It has to be a coupe, and 6-spd. I dont like the cabs for some reason... i think it's the trunk . Lol.. when i test drove the mustang gt i felt like i was comiting a mortal sin. Just doesn't feel like home.

What about judson951's car?

its so beautiful. I really like both the 968 and the 951 equally. Either one would suffice. Being that i have never owned a 951 and i can turn a wrench quite well, what could go wrong with a 951 of this condition. I know there are a million threads and posts about the realibility of the 951. If kept in this condition what could go wrong? Or should i stick with the 968. So confused. Both are powerful beasts.

How about checking out the 968 coupe list on eBay in Georgia?

I've owned 3 968's (2 cabs and now a coupe) and have been thinking about selling and buying a 951. The more I've thought about how good a platform the 968 is to start with, the more I've been leaning towards doing a 3 litre turbo conversion. Between the 968 being newer, and more refined to begin with I'm personally sticking with that platform. That's not to say the 968's don't have their issues. Variocam pads wearing out and the cam chain snapping, along with pinion bearing and the usual 944 timing belt/balance belt stuff...there is a lot of maintenence. Good luck in whichever you choose.

All this talk of the 968 chassis being more refined is very confusing to me. The cars are basically the same, they have the same chassis and mostly the same interior. The main differences are; body panels, engine, trans, and a few small interior parts. That being said the 968 is awesome, the red one you had an ad for may be one I saw at Eurofest. If it is that car it is PERFECT, the 951 to me is worth the extra little bit of maintance and time. With just minor things it will scream and will be very driveable. Just buy a very good example and have it thoroughly checked out. I don't see a problem buying a 951 as long as you do your own maintance. The problems on those cars are primarly the same as 944 s just happening a little more often.

The suspension on the standard 968 is the same as a 951 Turbo S, so that's my point in saying that the suspension is better. The 968 castor blocks are an upgrade. If you buy a stock 951 non S, you'd have to upgrade it to make it the same as a 968. The engine is more refined, that's for sure, not modifiable, but a nice powerplant. Very smooth and the transmission is very smooth as well. My 2 cents.

968's are a good way of (temporarily) avoiding the crack, I mean boost, habit. Never tried the 951 myself because I know I would just get swept away in the neverending quest for just a bit more power.

Sorry if my post came across badly, I was curious. But I do feel the 968 is a wonderful car and if you plan on leaving it alone go for a 968.
