Wheel Shimmy
I just rotated my tires (fronts to rears...rears to fronts. didn't cross them) and am now noticing a shimmy in the front at about 60 mph. Is it just the tires need to be balanced or could it be something else?

Could be that one of the rims that you moved to the front is slightly out of round. Take it in for a balance and ask them to check them out.

First stop is tire balance.
Next would be checking the wheel to make sure that it's true, not bent.
After that, perhaps something is wrong with the tire, like broken belts inside it.
After that possibly a front end alignment, but not probably the problem, as before the rotation there was no shimmy, so we are looking for a localized problem.

Whenever you are balancing wheels, if you do find one that is a little out of round, and the wheels are the same width etc. you always put it on the rear, it is much less noticeable this way.
take the car in, get the wheels rebalanced, and tell them to see if they are out of round, also, what is the tire wear like?
