Default FS: 17" Twists from 996 w/ Tires

Hello all. Jumped over from the 996 board on the recommendation of another member. I've just upgraded wheels on my 996 and need to get rid of the stock 17" twists that came on the car. Thought about keeping them for spares, but I've got absolutely nowhere to store them. Wheels have tires mounted- Pilot Sport All-Seasons with 90%+ left. Very minor (if any) curb rash on 2 wheels, decent scratch on one, and another took a curb pretty well (not from me, though). Result- probably need wheel repair on at least one of them, maybe two. PM me with offer if interested. Pics available.

Thanks for looking!

Nick

What are the sizes? 7's and 9's?

Actually, I'm not sure... Let me check. They were the stock wheels on the 996.

If you can list the casting numbers on the wheels- - it would rule out a lot of Early/ Vs / Late issues.

i.e - will this fit?? questions.

There is no issue with early vs. late.

They will bolt on a late car (though the dust cap may not) they will only bolt onto an early car with spacers.

I'll move some stuff later tonight and will post the casting numbers. They are on the inside of the wheel, right?

You dont need to. Just grab the wheel sizes. It will say X X 17 ETXX.

The twists I have are off of a '2000 996. They are 7x17 ET 55 and 9x17 ET 55. They fit perfectly on an '89 951 with factory rolled fenders, including the center caps. I THINK they would fit a late-offset 944 without rolled fenders, but I cannot guarantee it.

Just confirmed that the wheels are 7x17 ET55 and 9x17 ET 55. Don't know about fitments; my only experience has been with the 996.

I have a set on my 968 and they fit perfectly. Same dimensions as 87+ 944, so figure the same.

They will work fine on the late offset cars (87+). For an early car you will need spacers but they can be made to work. Some people have had issues with the centercap and dustcap contacting each other, I didnt.
