boost is certainly addictive. my 951 felt fast with only chips. but i find it increasingly interesting how so much attention is focused on power and relatively little attention is paid to developing the chassis and brakes to handle the power.
eg, a local 951 owner - and well-known 951 tuner - has so much power in the engine and so little chassis tuning that every autocross is spent sliding around the course because of wheelspin and upsetting the vehicle dynamics because of violent boost surges.

Cars (ESPECIALLY Porsches) are engineered to be balanced such that they can handle the power they come with. A delicate harmony has been attained in a machine when it leaves the factory (and again, I'm thinking of Porsches not Fords). To modify a car is to disrupt this balance, so I say that if you plan on juicing it up, you better spread the loving equally over the whole car, i.e. don't buy just engine parts, keep the chassis, suspension, brakes, drivetrain up to par. This can be very expensive.

you mean balanding it out like buying a 951 with 968 caster blocks, M030 sways, cross drilled rotors, camber plates, KLA strut tower brace, 250-lb springs, that sits like, 2 inches off the ground?

ditto.
bilstein escort,450lb spring front,400lb rear,poly bushings everywhere,upgraded torsion,larger anti roll,strut tower brace, s4 brakes,pagid pads,ss lines, ATE super blue,ect.ect.
turbo S gears,steel syncros,quaffe LSD,cup clutch, ect.ect.
My car is extremely well balanced. Having hp alone isint everything. But, a 951 is a great platform to go from. Its easy to keep the car well balanced.
Soon to be powered by vitesse and 4xxhp.

maybe I will kick up extra money for a custom cam and try for mid 400s. Regardless 400hp and 400tq with good powerband is a fast street car.

I dont know if you have ever seen some of my videos. But, I have left most cars people think are fast in the dust. 300hp is a good starting point...and enough for most people. Its just when you drive 300hp everday....well its gets boring.
I think mid 400's I will be happy and when that feels slow I will always have the supra. I think with the SPLGTQ on it should put it in the neighborhood of 700 or so on decent boost.

yeah the supra is as good as here.
I will post pics and vids when I finally get her.....hopefully the rennlist community wont kill be with ricer comments.
fyi the supra market is hot right now...if you have the means...go pick one up. They are seriously selling good ones at decent prices now.
**edit** wanted to add that even though they are known for reliabilty the first thing I will be doing is taking the car to kenny. He will be rebuilding and checking everything. Then it will just be a matter of money. Because im forced to start my porsche project sooner than I had hoped with the wreck.
So right now there wont be anything supra happening... all this 968 stuff has got cobb webbs flying out of my pockets

no no Im doing a 968 conversion on the 951. It was in a accident and I was forced to start doing this alot earlier than I had expected to be. Hence the money shortage since I was working on details of my turbo stuff with john.
So I have some pretty big irons in the fire. I need to put one out at a time. Since the porsche is the main fun car right now and being its already in the shop...might as well finish it first

I just bought a maf chip from John, and all I have to say is wow. It is a night and day difference, similar set up as you. The car is awesome, do have one issue I am working out though. BTW, sorry bout the car, do you have any pics of the accident? Good luck with the conversion should be interesting.
