Unhappy help starter problem

Hi. 2 weeks ago I my garage flooded - and my 944.

After getting the water out and drying the DME in the oven, the car started right up!

two weeks later, the starter motor doesn't run. The battery seems good and I hear a pretty loud clicking noise when I try to start.

I'm a little embarassed but where is the starter motor located? How can I test whats wrong?

Any help appreciated!

Stator has rusted in the housing. Have to take it off and apart to sand, file or scrape the rust out of it.

Starter is easy to find and remove; it's on the very bottom of the engine. It's easy to remove and the process is pretty self-expanatory. Good luck with the starter, you got lucky with the DME!
