Doing the heat always on fix - Quick help needed please
Hey...
I'm out in the garage working late because I want to get this done before the car goes away for the winter tomorrow. I'm trying to replace the heater clip (I have the OEM parts from pelican), and I got the plastic cover off, and the metal rod is held in place by a clip but it doesn't look the same as in the pictures from clarks garage

Help me determine if i'm either a) looking at the wrong piece all together b) everything is ok and working and the part just looks different or c) part is broken and I need to replace the clip.
I'll repeat, the metal rod is safely inside the already existing plastic clip, but the plastic clip looks different than the plastic clip I have, and the clips shown in the picture. Maybe it's nothing, maybe it's something, i'm not sure what to do from here...
Here are some pictures of what i'm looking at, sorry for the poor quality, it's the best my camera could do.
Thanks!

Ok, I think I found the right one, but the strange thing is that there was no plastic cover over it so that was why I didn't even bother to look at it in the first place. From what I can see, this looks ok, the metal clip is over the metal bar, what do you think?

Hmm, if you compare my last 2 pictures to the pictures on http://www.tech-session.com/kb/index...x_v2&id=44&c=4 the metal clip is in a slightly different spot, mine seems lower like something snapped out of place, but when I was just out there I tried to move it by hand and nothing would budge, so this just adds to a confusion!

My 89 had the 2 clips and they did not match when I did this fix. I had to bend the replacement metal clip to get it to fit with a pair of needle nose pliers.
If the clip(s) look fine and are holding the damper, you might be looking at a vaccum line issue....
