I need a headlight switch (the part on the column that you push/pull for high low beams) for a 83 944, can ANYONE help me? my source is quoting me an outrageous price because they dont make the early one anymore, a later model is availble, that has a cruise control option that is NOT necceasary for my car, as it isnt available on it. Please PLEASE i need help. I cannot drive at nighttime PERIOD.

i have a few used ones, what is actually wrong? no headlights isn't the stalk...it's the switch. i have all of them. what color is it? pm me and i will send you one. sitch 15, stalks are 30

Try Ian's.. 944online.com. I hear they are still down from Hurricane Theta.. but I'm sure he has a good used part for you.
No headlights is the switch- I agree. The switch can be rebuilt if youre handy, patient and like spring loaded parts. I did a write up a few years back.
Did you try to pull and reseat the switch body to attempt to fix this? bad contacts are a real issue.
