I recall seeing pics of this car in another for sale ad, and its been significantly altered from the factory original specs.

The red Cup car has been usually tucked away at the other building, not often on display. It was on display at the VW&Friends show 2 years back, that is where those photos that XS posted came from.

Yep, the A&H car was just a plain jane 1986 951 that was transformed into a pink racer....

(sorry for the OT digression Paul)

It did a couple DE track days and had an incident in turn 13 of Mid Ohio, damaging one of the rear corners. I'd say without a doubt this was your car # 165103. He's since retired to Florida.
You're right, now I see that it says "Purchased by Al Grill Early '87"

Moskalik was the owner/founder of Kelly Moss ("Moss" came from his last name, "Kelly" was his wife's name). I know of an Escort car that came out of Kelly Moss about 8-10 years ago and has traded hands in the WI and MN area several times. I am planning on seeing that car this wknd and will check the VIN, but I was assuming it was the #103 car.
Absolutely it fits with the timetable. I think Mr. Grill retired from recreational track driving and sold it after the incident. He bought a lot of new toys, but usually sold them off within a year or so.

Paul;

I have some pics of some of these variants from my days of attending both the Escort and Playboy series races up at Mid-Ohio in the late 80's. Pics are non-digital of course, but I'll try and scan and post when I get a chance.

Jerry

Edit:
Pics I have are of the:
#7 Carlsen Porsche 951--White with white Ronal fins
#73 Rothmans 951 -- Sewickley and Tire America
#81 Leroy Cannon Motors 951 (Rothman colors)

Seems all but the #7 car can be seen in link above.

Now I'm really look forward to these pictures! Way cool.

Will you be able to make high resolution versions, suitable for printing available?

Thanks in advance!

The people in that list owned the cars 15 years ago.

Paul, I previously recall seeing in your signature that your car was to "soon be for sale", change your mind? I can't say I blame you if so.

Roger, I hadn't driven the car in almost a year, but got it out the other day and remembered what a great car it is! I've ordered a (blasphemy!) Ford GT, so I may try to sell this, but........ I may not!

Would those people know where the cars went then?

You must be excited about the Ford GT! Have you considered other cars in its class? Aston Martin or Maserati?

I'm just not an Aston or Maserati or Ferrari guy, and have never considered buying any car like this until the GT came out. I just couldn't not get one! (Blue, no stripes)

Dan P, is that the car Rhenn was talking about at Quaker Steak and Lube a few months ago?
