The guestbook has been sponsored for "Lifetime" in the name of the Rennlist. As long as legacy.com is there, we'll have it to remember him by. It's the least I could do, Dan was a great guy.

Sad news.
I did suggest Iceshark to look in on the PCGB 944 forum here in the UK as there was interest in his kit. He did continue to contribute on other matters there also.
There are a few guys over here who have benefitted from his light kit.
In our thoughts from this side of the pond.

I just got a return e-mail from his family... had been trying to get in touch w/him for a few weeks... I am a little shocked here at the moment... will get back here & sign later... Does anyone know what actually happened? It says it was September 23... I was really starting to get worried about him when I posted here, trying to find him, but, when everyone said he was on vacation, I thought it was possible, although, not likely he would be gone for so long...
There are many people here I've always wanted to meet in person... he was always at the top of the list- I spent countless hours talking w/him over the phone on Porshe & non-Porsche related matters... His callous wit was often betrayed when speaking to him... He had a big heart & was often taken for being "short" w/many people in typed messages, but, to know him, most would realize there was a lot more humor in his tone...

I had the pleasure of talking and dealing with Dan on several occasions. I was always impressed and inspired by how much he genuinely cared for this community. It was his personal mission to keep us and our cars safer and he often interrupted his personal life to make sure Rennlisters were taken care of. I can't remember ever meeting a more selfless, honest and giving person in my life.
I wish you the best Dan. Thank you again for everything you've done for me and our community.

I too had the privilege of speaking with Dan once on the phone. It was very obvious to me that he was a very wise and intelligent person.
I will have a lasting memory of him - every time I sent him a check, he asked for me to have my wife write the check as he loved her handwriting. I'll never forget how much he commented on it the first time we sent one to him. I'll also remember his appreciation for the extra money I sent him as a thank you for his time - I told him to go by a six pack. I recall he enjoyed that too...
I'm very saddened to hear of his passing. And pray that God is with his family at this time.
Godspeed Dan...
