Default Clutch trouble

I am a rookie mechanic and have just repaired minor things on my 1986 944 n/a. I haven't driven the car in two weeks and when I got in today and pushed the clutch pedal down, it went strait to the floor with no effort and remained there. I pulled it up by hand and it stayed up until I touched it with my foot again and again it went down. What should I be looking for in this case?

Appreciate the help.

Roy

Replace your clutch master and slave cylinders. not a bad idea to go ahead and replace the hose as well.

A challenge to bleed, but not impossible.

I did it, sure you could too!

First make sure that there is fluid in the reservoir.

Then, check for hydraulic fluid in the area where the pushrod from the cluth master cylinder the cabin through the firewall. Pull back the rubber boot and check there, too. Then check the hoses and fittings for signs of leaks. And finally check inside the bellhousing through the inspection hole for leaks.

There are some tricks to bleeding the clutch hydraulics. Do a search.

Warning Shameless Plug:

I have a set of the clutch master and slave cyc. that I replaced with new ones when they were not bad. I thought they were but the rubber line was shot, so I replaced them then found out it was the line. PM me with an offer if you would like them.

Yup, that little 7mm wrench finds hot starter leads when you poke around down there.

I made that mistake once. Once.
