Burma Shave

I'm prepping my car for paint... can the squirters be removed without cutting the wires (heat I suppose)? Granted I was tired after block sanding all day, but the squirter wires are also attached to the underhood light. I disconnected the plug but the light seems to be hard wired as well to the squirters....any input would be appreciated, otherwise I will look again in the morning.
