I was in a shop recently when the owner of a 968 and another porsche was getting service done. i was told the guy didnt maintain his car.

The original owner of "your" 968 was in rosedale. now the car is in islip which is almost an hour away from me.

Russel Whalers (president of RPM) told me this guy brought his car in for a 2002 service to Huntington for all the necessary scheduled maintenance. Russel said he thought the owner-who was spending a lot on upgrading brakes, timing belts, etc-was taking care of the car.

The guy told me he bought the car in 02, and then took it to Russel Whalers for maintenance. But the only title change on the carfax is in 04. Something is fishy.

2 accidents, that sounds like my 86. I suppose you could even go as far as pulling up the cases with the NYPD to see what the extent of the damage was (i.e. circumstances surrounding the collision). But I suppose that would only be worthwhile if your friend was going to make a counter-offer on the car.
My friend is through with the car. Its a smokers car BTW (my friend cannot stand smoke) so that automatically seals the deal right away.

But even if it wasnt a smokers car, my friend wouldnt want it. 2 accidents, and the subsequent shoddy work done on the work, was enough to scare him away.

I think he may have taken the car to some local shops since 2002. Which shop did you see this car in?
