Default Time to widen the track!

Ok guys I've been noticing my phonies sit too far in on the back of my car.

I notice that there are factory spacers in the front for the wheels. Can I pick up a pair of these spacer/adapters and attach them to the rear with no issues? What size are these spacers too?

oh btw does anyone have any pictures of 944s using the 16" C2 wheel? I'm really starting to like these. If I go with a later offset upgrade, I may be selling my 17" Cup 1 wheels (early offset)

Those are not spacers on the front. They are part of the hub assembly.

weird. It almost looks like those spacer adapters seen on aftermarket upgrade sites. Hey Tifo, when I get the chance I'll pull the wheel and show you what I'm talking about. I know I'm not crazy, but that sure as hell looks like a factory spacer to me.

(this is an old pic of my front brakes from several years back)

You are talking about the silver thing in the middle that the studs come out of, correct? That's not a spacer (even though it may look like one of the aftermarket bolt on spacers).

For the rear, pick up a pair of the spacers that were stock on the rear of 82-85 944 cars, and a set of longer studs for each of the rear sides. These factory spacers were deleted from the 85.5 and 86 cars for some reason, but they go a long way toward filling out the rear stance.

Wow this whole time I thought they were.

Hey Tifo, just outta curiousity, would a later front wheel's offset (52mm) rub in the front without a spacer? I know they would sit WAYYY too far inside the wheel well in the rear of the car.

I'm gonna go check out prices for longer studs and spacers.

On your car, it would fit without hitting, but it will sit really far inboard.

yeck, looks like I would need spacers for that too. Might as well go with longer studs in the front too.
