Questions about Design 90 Wheels
I just purchased a set of 16x6 and 16x8 Design 90 wheels for my 88' 944 na and the tires are 205/55/16 and 225/50/16 Goodyear Eagle GSD3 F1 tires that are in excellent condition. The stock phone dial rims are 15x7 all around with 215/60/15 tires. My question is:
1) Should I try and find a set of 16x7 for the fronts and put the 205/55/16 tires on them and run staggered sizes?
2) Should I try and find a set of 16x8 for the fronts and buy another pair of 225/50/16 Goodyears to match so I will have the same size all around?
3) Should I just keep the 16x6 and 16x8 staggered sizes and just be done with it?
How will that affect my handling? Good or bad?

With my 944S I had the dish-type 928 style wheels in 16x7 and 16x8. As far as going with a 6 or a 7 in the front, both wheels will look relatively the same and can fit the same 205/50/16 tire. With the 7's you would be able to run a 215 or 225...I don't recall which I put up front on the 944S (I believe 225s). When I did go larger than 205 I did not find it helping much, and it actually made the car somewhat annoying on the highway as the wider tire seemed to channel and drift more often (the wider tire also did not perform as well in the rain). On the rears, with the 16x8 I used 245/45/16's simply because I liked the look of the wider tire from behind...it really didn't change the handling or grip of the car in any way I noticed.
