Default FUEL?

Hello!
Since now I use only 91 RON regular unleaded fuel, because this shows on my fuel tank cap.I can make now under 20 mpg and when i start the car it smels fuel...I have no cat and my oxigen sensor is shot for shure,so i need to know if isn't better to run premium fuel instead. How will run the car?And how about the 8 possition switch on DME?I run rich now, what if I switch to other possition?
Thanks in advance.

With an engine in proper operating condition, including a working O2 sensor, you only need to run the recommened octane from Porsche. The octane rating is basically an anti-detonation rating. The higher the rating the less likely to detonate. In your case I would run premium fuel because your DME isn't reading exactly what is happening in the fuel system. This makes it harder for the DME to correctly adjust the timing and fuel-air ratio to increase ifficiency while controlling knock.

Others will have to help you out on the DME switches. I do know you can cause some unwanted results if not switched properly.
