Ok, thats the last time I do that!!! I won't go into detail unless people really want, but I did a multicoat of Souveran paste all week. Wash, paste, wash, paste, etc... etc... The car was already polished, waxed etc... This was just top coating. All done by hand. Souveran is some expensive as crap (think $50 for 8 ounces) straight carnauba paste. It's basically as close as you can get to natural ivory carnauba leaf wax without it being a solid, unusable brick. It lasts less than 30 days and if its REALLY hot out, it evaporates. Is started hazing REALLY bad at the show. Once it got hot, all the creases on the car started turning white! HAHA, no need for that. I will go back to my machine waxing with the meguiars lineup! Either that, or I will apply this stuff first and then throw a synthetic on top. I found it is really only rediculouslly shine under angled light and artificial light. Bright sunlight did nothing to help it.

How did things end up placing wise? Lisa and I made a quick walk back through the P-cars then straight to the car, she was getting a bit hot. It was a beautiful day.

I took second place to a Boxster. I did take Judge's Pick though, so i am more satisfied with that anyways. Um...i can't remember which other cars came first. I know the '89 930 took something...and both 997s got something. It will be up on the PCA site in the next day or two.

Tony,
As long as I can get some stuff squared away Lisa just told me that I can show the '87 when you do. That way you will not be the only front engine water cooled car at the show. The two of us came home and I spent the rest of the afternoon fixing the sunroof. It works now!! WOO HOO!
I would be glad to take second to your S2 any day.

It was so funny, at the show you gotta display engine. The Boxster opened up this dinky little hatch under the folding top. If all i had to clean was an engine bay like that ide be soooooo done cleaning in like an hour! HAHA. Our engine bay is never ending!
I have been talking with the concours chairs lately and things are going to change. We used to have an awesome concours program and lots of front engine cars used to come. (the chairperson was a front engine guy...) I will be lending a hand next season in preperation and organization. I think I want to add some kind of front engine event. Some fun stuff too... "Most neglected watercooler class" or something for those that just wont come cause they arent shiny! HAHA. Either way, next season I really want to see what i can do to get a better representation of some of the finest cars made.
Yeah I will have pics up later today I think. Oh, it was also funny...the row of late model 911s.... it was all Red-Silver-Black repeated over and over! People are really unoriginal when it comes to colors! Then again, if you go to a Ferrari event its like 90% red...2 yellow...1 silver...and a black car.

Looks great man. I still swear by doing it the old fashioned way by hand. Ive got an orbital but I cant feel the paint with it. I havent given up on the orbital but if I want it to look its best, I rarely use it.

Actually I have never had points deducted for clear lenses. The judges we had this time have done parade level judging for many years as well. Apparently clear mask won't effect judging in some classes either. I did get points of for moisture in my turn signal. Is there a reason this is happening. Or should i just get the blow dryer next time?
