Default Help!!again

Hi all,

I need a good used(cheap) set of speed/reference sensors. I'm pretty sure mine are shot and I can't afford $240 for a set of new ones right now. I may also need a new(used) harness but I'll try the sensors first.

Can someone help me out please , it's been 3 weeks since I've been able to drive the car.

Thanks,

Go to any junkyard, the ones off an E28 (5-series) BMW are the same except the wires are longer.
They are a straight fit. Make sure you measure the sensor air gap or the car won't fire.

GMS, thanks a bunch for the tip. I cross referenced the part number F6010-12760 to all the BMW's that it goes to. I found an '86 535i at the pick and pull and it still had the sensors. Pulled them and the connectors for the wiring harness. Total cost $14.95 for both. Got them to the shop and ohmed them out, they were exactly as my old ones. Installed them anyway and put a scope on before starting the car and the wave form was exactly the same (WTF) . Anyway so I hook everything up, I killed my soldering iron so I could only twist the wires together got myself all set for disappointment, turned the key and Shazzaaaam, she started right up and purred like a Porsche.

Now I need to go back to the shop with another soldering iron and make everything tidy and neat. By the way, if you look up that part number for the BMW sensors, they are about half the price new than the Porsches are. Minor differences but they work.

Thanks again GMS,

Glad it worked, but why would you need a soldering iron? The connectors are exactly the same except the wires are longer, you just plug them in.

Yea, well I removed the connectors and some of the harness, and stuff.
