I'll get hold of David (ibdavid), Shawn(H20Pumper), and Josho for the Coast Run, I'm sure they will be interested. The 969 run sounds fun but I prefer the smaller ***** to the wall group myself. The Skaggs Springs section alone is worth the price of admission. Us Sac folks also get the joy of taking a couple of those great Lake Berryessa 'shortcuts' we did this Spring.

ok i guess i'll go to this one, it's probably better to meet some more 944 people, someone make up a course route and where we're meeting/where we're going to. RSVP for 969 motorsports drive- cancelled.

Edit: is it ok if i invite a non-944 to this? my friend's got an A4 1.8t that i'm sure some of the N/A's can beat on. and maybe a Saab 9-5...turbo lol.

I'm gonna try to get this thing to go. I'll put in a fresh clutch this weekend from burning it last weekend :

Also, my friends in an MR2 turbo and 328i might be there too. For those wondering - all cars are welcome. We have had drives with this group of people where there were more non Porsches.

Sounds like it'll be fun, but isn't it more fun when the Porsche density is higher than the other-car density?

Yes, but usually about 1/2 the people back out due to mechanical failure - I kid you not. I've only been on one run the entire year...

We rarely need more than a pair of hands to count the numbers of cars in attendance anyways.

What's with the #19 car with the engine and dual rudders in the rear? Last I saw you had a BMW Serge.

I don't know where you get this stuff Serge. The runs that Brad, David, or myself have set up have one thing in common: Everyone finishes, no one has crashed, everyone made it home, and P-cars were the majority everytime. Non Porsche attendance was always 1 or 2 cars at the most and welcome. What you are saying is so discouraging and takes away from the intent of Brad's post to welcome all for a good drive. There's nothing wrong with a smaller gathering. The bigger runs seem to turn into cluster-fu*k$ with people traveling too close together like lemmings over a cliff. We don't stop at wineries, don't give out T-shirts, or worry about who's in front at any given moment. If you feel that 1/2 the people don't make it due to Porsche related mechanical failures then you must be speaking for yourself. Remember this is a Porsche Forum not" Let's take a Drive.com". Sorry Serge but you sound all **** and Vinegar today.

Thanks for keeping the intent clear Steve. I'll get a course and logistics post out this weekend which gives everyone two weeks notice. We'll do the ride on the 8th October. It is organized by a 951 owner directed towards fellow 944/951 owners but all are welcome. In practice this means one or two of us invite a friend who doesn't have a 944. Everyone's happy. The odd Honda S2000 (Chris), 240Z (Dan), makes it a little more interesting. Hey, maybe I'll bring my RX-8 instead - it handles better than the 951, though it's not as quick... nah, I won't.

For those of you who haven't been on the ride before, we meet in downtown Calistoga in north Napa Valley, and go generally northwest until we hit the coast at Stewart's Point on Hwy 1. It's about 100 miles.

More details to follow - stay tuned.

Umm, not at all. I guess it came out the wrong way. What I meant was that usually half the people who say they're going to come back out before the run.

I was exaggerating, only a few cars are non porsches...

To those who took my comment incorrectly, do come! These runs are fantastic!!

Maybe I'll ask my friend with an rx-7 to come, he's always giving my car "mad props", and seeing some 951s in action will only convince him further to join our cause .

Mechanical failure won't stop me - tomorrow I put my wheel bearings (and new rotors) back in! If my 944 breaks, I'll take mom's. If that breaks I'll take dad's 928. If that breaks, I'll laugh at it and bring the mercedes turbodiesel just to be a joker.

I would have loved to make this one, and if it was on the 1st I'd be there. But I'll be in Washington D.C. on the 8th, so I think I'll have to miss this one. I look forward to some good pictures though. Drive safe and have a blast.

guys, i think i destroyed my car (pcar2) last night, gasket or seal blown- no oil to crankcase, you know the story. i haven't got the details yet, regarding what actually happened. i might still try and come because the drive is beautiful regardless, but this car (the 86) is down for the count..
more news later.
