Where does water drain beyond the windshield / rain tray?
I think I found the source of my water leak...somewhere under my windshield, in the battery tray, I should have some sort of water drain right? Well water is building up there, found about maybe 1" of water after tonight's crazy rain storm here in NJ. I promptly vacuumed it out, then per chance, went into my half-disassembled interior, peaked underneath the front area carpet, and low and behold, down the center by the tunnel is some standing water. Feeling the top of the carpet, its bone dry...peak under, and there's some water.
My question is: on early 944, is there a plastic raintray between the windshield and the battery tray on both sides. If not, where is the drain and how do I clear it?

The rain drains to the engine bay. You should see some flaps on the firewall.
However, water in your interior this time of year is more likely from your AC.

I had water in my passenger side footwell. I had the cover for the blower motor off while I was t/s'ing it when it rained. I put it back on and it was dry the next rain. Other than that there are drain holes in the rain tray to the engine compartment that get clogged up. You'll see them, take a hanger and clear them out.
