Anyone in PHX up for a sunroof tweaking?

I am having issues with mine and would like an experienced hand to help me with this....

I wish I was closer- I've rebuilt dozens of sunroof's- motors, and microswitches and final adjustments..

what isssues??

 

Started off with the arms not extending all the way.
Then not at all (but the motor would still run, no stripping noises)
Got back to the motor thinking it was a clutch slippage, but when I tried to raise the roof manually (21mm hex) I got it to move up a fraction and then a snapping noise in the motor assembly with every turn of the wrench. Scared the crap out of me until I read that this was normal....I hope.
Lowered it back down, tried it with the switch, passenger side arm raised just enough to lock roof in place, no movement on drivers side.

I don't think I have stripped gears at this moment, but I am leaning towards thinking a cable adjustement is needed.

I don't want to go disassembling everything unless I need to, and I don't want to crack open something that is broken with no idea what a working one should look like. (Anyone that has taken a door panel off and tried to fix a broken door lock with no idea what a working one looks like can relate).

I hope taking apart the sunroof motor and adjusting the cable is as easy as replacing bulbs in the tail lights (THANK YOU VW/AUDI!!!!).

But if it is not, I'd like someone who knows what they are looking at helping me out......
