Ok, I have been avoiding this, but I’m selling my 944. I started graduate school this week, and won’t have the time or money to keep the 944 in my stable.
Here is some info about the car:
Late model 1985.5
Kalahari Beige
New Brakes (and Rotors) added to all wheels (mid-August 2005)
New Tie Rods (May 2005)
New Koni Sport Shocks/Struts - adjustable yellows (May 2005)
Full alignment (May 2005)
New right control arm (November 2004)
New (used – from ’89 S2) hatch replaced. Fully functional, fully sealed hatch (November 2004)
WORKING DASH CLOCK, W/BACKLIGHT – Latest addition. I’m happy to report that the clock is working just right.
Climate Control Unit (replaced in August 2005)
New Hood Shocks
New metal glove compartment rails (those plastic things really pissed me off when they broke)
Alpine CDA-9827 Stereo
Interior in very good condition
Timing Belt/Water Pump @ 200K
Mobil 1 oil changes every 3K
3rd Owner [First owner was the mother of my friend (second owner) that sold me the car]
Tires have lots of tread left.
Small dash cracks (big surprise)
Dent in right rear (see pic) from 2nd owner’s wife backing into an SUV in a parking lot.
No A/C - Sorry, I tried to get it fixed, and blew the second compressor. I believe that it was tied to a bad Climate Control Unit (which I replaced at the same time as the dash clock in August, 2005).
This car has always been a daily driver. I bought it from a friend who learned to drive on it when he was in high school (it was his mother’s car first – purchased off a dealer’s showroom in NC). The PO babied the interior and engine of the 944. In my opinion, he should have replaced the shocks/struts years ago, but I took care of them in May of this year. I’ve put about 8K miles on it since purchasing it in October, 2004, and a bunch of money. It is finally where I think it should be mechanically, but I need to let it go as I begin my maddening ascent (descent? Haha) into graduate school. The only thing I must report in bad condition is the A/C (sniffle). I lost a/c in the beginning of July, and blew a second compressor before the end of the same month. The problem might have been caused initially by a bad Climate Control Unit, which forced the a/c to run continuously at full blast. I have since replaced the bad Climate Control Unit with a functioning one (which is important, since without it, the car wouldn’t provide controllable heat either – it does now).
Anyway, I’d like it to go to a good home.
$2,500 of Best Offer.

If the car doesn't sell, I'll buy the pass. seat from ya (my GF hates the pass. sport seat in my 86NA)
Of course I'm being festicious, best of luck selling your car and in school.

ok, ok, fine. I could have written that sentence better. is it safe to come out now? haha.
Clearly, I meant that I put NEW brakes on in August, 2005.
And not just the pads, new rotors all around. We're stopping on dimes now!
I'm going back up to alter the first post...

More pics of the car you want!
oh, btw - The seats look a bit better now than in those pics. I picked up some Lexol from Paragon when I got the brakes, and finally put it on the seats this past weekend (the pics were from a couple weeks before that). Lexol is good stuff.

This is just like a house, but with wheels! It has a roof, heater, and entertainment for the whole family (well, hope your kids are small so they can fit in the backseat)!
I'm heading to wash it right now. And if the lighting is good, I'll take some engine shots.

212K (the pic near the beginning of the thread of the odometer was taken a couple of weeks ago). Yeah, it has been on the road for 20 years, not sitting in a garage. It had 204K when I bought it. I love the car, but just won't have the time for it now that I'm in class part-time and working full-time. It is kind of a bummer since I've worked through the kinks that I thought needed to be fixed since buying it, but I guess someone will benefit. The main thing that really bothered me was the suspension. The new Koni Sports and tie rods made a huge difference in the ride.
The things I was looking to do in the future were mostly cosmetic now (getting new floormats, new steering wheel or recovering the original, new shift **** to replace the worn one, and if I could find a reasonably-priced paint job...).
And it was the water pump AND timing belt that were done @ 200K. I should be able to get the paperwork for the last eight years or so, I think. For the year I've had it, most of the work has been done be IMA Motorsports in VA. I did a few things - the dash clock, speakers, hatch, glove compartment, climate control unit, etc. - mostly the cosmetic stuff). Before I had it, the PO used Porsche of Arlington, VA for six years, and HBL Porsche for a few years before that. I am assuming they'd printout (maybe for a fee???) the work history on it.
