well, just shot color on all of my small pieces (mirrors, gas door, bumpers, front valence, end caps, headlight covers etc. etc.) and after i get back from a fishing trip in canada, ill be shooting the car and then putting it back together.
BUT what do i use to reseal the tail-light assembly? there was a thick, non-hardening goop junk around the thing that held it in pretty good. someone told me that the sealant had a part number, can it only be had from a dealer?
what have other people used?
painting is a big job, but my car is going to be so much blacker than it was it aint even funny

I used black automotive silicone in a large caulking gun tube size and completely resealed mine. Worked great. You need to remove the lights, clean up all the old gunk, and start with the new stuff.

1/4" ribbon seal. 3M. Available at any auto paint store. Normally used for windshields. Same stuff I've used for rear light assys. and for cowling screen over early car heater blower motor. Colder it is, the harder it is to work with.
