I want to do some tests on this engine--compression test, leak-down test, fuel pressure. Will I need special tools or can I use "off the rack" equip? I don't really feel like dropping more $ on stuff I can't use. The car is a 16V, if that makes a difference.
Thx.

i use a screw in compression tester/off the shelf, made a fuel pressure tester that t's into the lines.
leakdown tester, you'll have to bite the bullet on that one.
i've used the leakdown/pressure diff in an acft environment where you need to reference both sides in the paperwork but wouldn't buy one.
