damn electric superchargers. I bet the air filter is worth more than that thing.

Yea, check out the pics. . . Looks like a Honda Civic in the one set (grey car) and a Toyota engine (blue car) to me. . .

How about hooking up nine or ten vaccum cleaner motors? That'd probably work better - those suckers are POWERFUL (ever see the episode of Mythbusters where they make a hovercraft out of 'em?) Of course you'd be limited by the range of your extension cords since there's no way you'd get the required amperage to run them without adding about 10 alternators. . .

Not that I'm interested in purchasing this thing but in theory why won't it work? After all forced induction merely pushes more air through the motor, why couldn't an electrical blower do the same thing? Is it because it doesn't generate enough force?

Electric "supercharger" turbine: 8,000 RPM
Turbocharger turbine: 150,000+ RPM

It's just not flowing enough. Also, it takes a given amount of energy to move a certain quantity of air. So in order to move enough air to make enough boost the amperage draw of a functional electric supercharger would overload a vehicle's wiring system in short order.

A turbo compresses air, an electric fan doesn’t really compress air. This may get you some hp, like 2hp on a N/A but it’s hardly worth it. Not to mention the extra amp draw causes more load on your engine from the Alt. Also with this there is a point at high RPM that the fan itself may become a restriction.

So- that means If I'm running the interior fan on high, it'll go faster= right??

I'm going to get one, but I have a few questions:

Could I take that supercharger and run 210 volts through it and lets see what happens?
And can I use that with my tornado?
