Advice on removing door mouldings
I removed the door moldings (the strips that run from front to back in the middle of the door) on the 83 I am cleaning up. What you you guys recommend for getting the adhesive residue off of the doors. I don't want to damage the paint.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Nearly impossible to get that stuff off without damaging the paint. You start with 3M adhesive remover, and a blowdryer, but I doubt this will work. The best way to get this stuff off is a Stripe eraser attachment for a drill, available at any auto paint store. It takes it off without making a mess of your paint. THANK YOU to whoever first suggested this to me, saves so much time!!!
Honestly though, you may be better off keeping the moulding on, it is going to be hard to make it look nice once to start taking it off.

Thanks for the info. I started doing this because the PO removed a portion of the moldings so they wouldn't interfere with his number decals (the car was club raced), but basically left part of them on the door (why, I have no idea). They must not be all that sticky, because alot of it peeled right off. The car has had paint work so they most likely are not original.
Thanks,
