Question Help!? - What are these wheels?

My friend gave me some wheels today off of his '83 911SC that he doesn't have any more. They are like BBS but are not BBS brand, they have S.W, and JJX15 stamped on the inside. They are two piece and are pretty lightweight, I'd like to put them on my '87, but if they came off of an '83 911, that would make them early offset, right? Is there any way to put early offset wheels on a late car, or does that only work the other way around?

If I can't use them, they might be up for sale - any interest? I will post some pictures as soon as I get home, I'm traveling right now.

I have set of those on my 83 944. They were originaly gold, but I repained them black.

These are probably early offset wheels at that means they won't fit on your 87. (Least with out the wheels popping out the fenders.

Nope, won't work. Unless they are freakishly narrow (like 6").

Ok, so I keep them in case I get an early car, or sell them - any interest?

Well....
... We had an 87 944-spec car running with early offset cookies.

The car ran fine, but the wheels were sticking out a bit. No that much, but it never looked quite right. That was with 225/50 tire and lots of negative camber too.

So... it can be done.

BTW... we change the 944-spec rules to only allow stock track widths to prevent all car from trying this.

Did they run skinny tires with whitewalls and have fringe hanging from the windshield?

All my friends drive a lowrider.....

Haha, yeah - these wheels are currently gold - which I HATE. Anyway, I was going to powdercoat them black and keep them around for use on an early car or something, unless someone wants them.....
