I have an 85.5 944. My cell phone charger doesn't seem to want to work with the cigarette lighter. I can plug it in, the phone will beep like it's supposed to when it starts to charge, but it never says it's charging. The lighter works. I pushed it in and it got hot. Could it be crudded up enough to keep it from charging? Or do I need a different lighter? Thanks for any help.

Have you tried it in another car? maybe its the car charger thats whack...

I replaced the cigarette lighter with a 12v outlet. There is an isue with the size of the recepticle.

Yea, I had the same problem with something I try to plug in. The size of it is just a little bit larger then normal, so the connection doesn't seem to be as good.
