Question Porsche 944 "tequipment" - still available????

Hey everyone, does any one know anything about the accessories Porsche offered for the 944 back in the day. I got the "boutique" brochures from a couple years in the late 80s/early 90s. That would be the equivalent of todays tequipment and driver selection catalogs.

There is all kinds of neat stuff listed for our cars that i have never once in my life seen! Maybe i will scan the pictures this weekend so people can see what im talking about.

Porsche made a Dark Lexan Shade for the rear hatch that form fitted with no tools. Has anyone ever seen this or have one?????? I love to get one!

Or the rubber front spoiler that looks similar to the one LeadFoot944 came up with?

I will post the other stuff Sunday when i get back to my setup. Do you think its possible Porsche still has a couple OEM units lying around in some storage house somewhere?

i'd like to get a hold of one of those brochures too Blue. I look in the old book/brochure stands in Pomona, CA at the swap meets there. I found LOTS upon LOTS of brochures dating as far back as 1959!

I got all the 944 and 928 ones of course!

The Porsche boutique brochures though I'm sure only gave you a limited amount of ideas or options you can order for your car. Going through the Exclusive program (what it's called today, could have been called Boutique also in the past) would allow you to modify the car to your like....errr-go M637 cars, M030 conversions and even turbo cup conversions.

To this very day Porsche can even sell you a GT2 with about as much power as the factory GT1 Of course you would have to sell your soul to get the money to get that engine from the factory

Oh yeah i know! The true "boutique" is just as you say, whatever you want...if you can afford our price!

I can scan some of the photos from the brochure so people can see what im talking about. Someone HAS to have one! I can't believe ive never ever seen or heard mention of more than half this stuff! It has to exist somewhere! If it doesn't...i think it just gave our creative rennlist crew a new item to create!

The floor mats I got for the 944 were techquipment. Expensive (over $120 for the set) but a helluva lot nicer than the Lloyds and other knockoff junk that's out there.

yea scan it blue!!!! I saw an exclusive car once on mobile.de.

the car was an M637 (exactly the same car mine is trying to clone), had no undercoating, no cat, sport seats, and sunroof delete. Definitely M030 that shell was sittingo n though

Can you imagine if you had the opportunity to order your car through the 'Boutique' what you would do to it? The knick-knacks you'd have in it??? effin awesome and nostialgic!!!!!

Scan all the pages, and if you don't want to mess with it send them to me at 150 dpi(300 preferred but file size can get real ugly)((or post them somewhere)) I will make a pdf out of it.

Mmmm, I'd love to run an old 914 through Porsche's "Sonderwunch" ("Special Wish") program and have it re-done to the specs of that development mule with the V8 that they gave to Ferry Porsche as a present. *drools*

Damn right i can! I know exactly how my 944 would have turned out! Oh well. However, i do plan on ordering a new Porsche one day and going through the exclusive program for some stuff.

I really really want a Pasha interior inserts on a new car. That would be soooo awesome.

It was powered by a flat 8 from a 908, not a V8. Two were built. The first went to Piech and the second went to Ferry Porsche.

I have the tequipment floor mats as well and they are already falling apart and Porsche will not stand behind them. I am extremely unhappy with them. The backing started to come off and started to get on my carpet. I was able to clean it, but I now have the matts at an upholstery shop to see if they can fix them. I would love to see other stuff though.

Dang, could have sworn there was a V8 test mule. Oops.

Didn't know that Piech got one though, I'd thought that the one not given to Ferry was scrapped. Still, gotta love the advice in the handwritten owner's manual. Suggested letting the engine "turn freely" and keeping the RPM "above 3,000" in order to "avoid fouling the spark plugs". You could have a little fun with that car I think...

Piech as in his Lois Porsche remarried, or Mr. Piech?

When I worked at the dealer back in 2001, we had some old brochures from around 87-88 and I looked up some cool stuff that was 944 related, NLA, dammit. I tried back then and couldn't get anything. Dunno, it would have been cool tho.
