951 Headlight washer woes
Hello! This is my first post on Rennlist.com...great site!
I have a 1987 951 with 59,000 miles and it is all original. The car has headlight washers that are the only thing not working on the car. When I puch the stalk to turn them on (when the headlights are up, of course) the only thing that happens is a very brief voltage drop (on the gauge), but no noise or fluid. Any guesses?? Thanks!

I have never had problems with mine, but I would start by tracking the hoses and see if they are split. See if there is water under the car after you do this. If all is fine then I would pull the wire off the pump and check and see if you have power and a ground. If all this is fine than your pump is probably the colpret.

The hoses behind the bumper cover and the plastic elbows that go to the washers themselves are succeptable to failure. One more reason to hate plastic parts - good for nothin' except breakin'. I'd start with that.

Unless you need them, I would figure out what it is, and then unplug em. (fuse/relay?) I've accidentally turned mine on a few times and its nothing but an annoyance. Gets blue liquid on the cars paint...
